Hello St. Thomas the Apostle! My name is Scott Nelson and I am the new P.E. Teacher and Athletic Director. I have taught and coached football and basketball for many years in Texas and South Carolina. My most recent position was English Department Chair at Cardinal Newman School, a Catholic middle and high school in Columbia, South Carolina. I also served as the Associate Head Football Coach and Women’s JV Basketball Coach. I grew up in Waco, Texas and lived for many years in Houston as well. I attended Catholic school from 1st through 12th grade, graduating from Reicher Catholic High School; I received a B.S. in Education from Texas A&M University and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law (Fun fact: I practiced law in Houston for about 9 years). My family moved to Hartford this summer when my wife, Eboni, became the Dean of UConn School of Law. Our daughter, Ella, is a Freshman at Northwest Catholic. I am looking forward to a great year at St. Thomas the Apostle and becoming a part of this great community.
